Mr. Tushar Jani It is my privilege to have a fruitful legacy of my Grandfather who started his career as a clerk in the then English owned CHA (Custom House Agents) company in the early 19th century.

He was a man with a lot of perseverance and clear goals and ventured into his custom house clearance business. What I inherited from my Grandfather and Father was not only the business acumen but also, very importantly for the success of the business, the Value System. This Value System has become our foundation which helped us to serve our customers for more than three generations.

The important aspect of our business is our people and since inception our people have been our strength and time and again they have excelled in completing their job and accepting challenges in difficult situation which certainly make me very proud of our people. Today in the whole Group we have more than 500 people and we make a big family together.

We have taken leadership positions on different initiatives at different times in this history of our Group. It may be the clearance of export cargo during World War I and World War II or exporting textile goods for our shippers prior to the multi-fiber agreement regime for textiles and help our customers to have a large share in quota.

The Group also has taken leadership in establishing an Air Cargo company in 1979. In 1983 the Group established a leading Express company namely Blue Dart Express Ltd.

The Group has also been a pioneer in establishing the first NVOCC company, Swift Freight, in India, having offices in the USA. Swift Freight was also credited with starting the first Groupage Console from India.

The Group companies also represent the interest of large shipping companies at various ICDs.

After exiting from the Blue Dart business, the Group has actively looked into various avenues and started a Warehousing company, TranSmart (India) Pvt. Ltd, with the first Modern Semi-automatic High Level Infrastructure Warehouse, a first of its kind, in Bhiwandi, Thane, and now expanding into other cities of India.

The Group has invested in the Cargo Handling company, Cargo Service Center India Pvt Ltd (CSC), a leader in this segment in India. CSC is now establishing a modern Greenfield Cargo Terminal at Delhi Airport in partnership with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL). CSC has established a modern perishable facility at Mumbai Airport and Ahmedabad Airport. CSC also has collaborative agreement to establish Airfreight Station with Concore at various locations.

It is clear that the Group wishes to participate in the Cargo processing aspect of Logistics Chain and be a leader in this segment by adopting innovative methods and solutions.
